EthoVision XT is the state-of-the-art video-tracking system that automatically tracks and analyses the activity and behaviour of any animal. Ideal for a variety of standard behavioural tests such as open field, plus maze and water maze, as well as high-throughput experiments, for example the monitoring of zebrafish larvae.
The newly released EthoVision XT 18 sees the continuation of the ‘Deep Learning’ era; using neural networks so the system can ‘learn by experience’. This drastically improves the detection of subtle behaviours, such as seizures, in rats and mice. Take a look at the movie lower down the page. EthoVision XT 18 also has exciting new Social Interaction features based on Deep Learning with no need to colour mark. This means two socially-housed rodents can be tracked without needing to add a colour mark, with no possibility of tracking ‘swaps’, and a host of analysis features based on relative position (e.g. nose-tail, nose-to-nose, or side-by-side).
The deep learning-based detection of the nose-point, centre, and tail-base of rats and mice takes video tracking to a new level, providing more accurate and stable body points detection. This is especially great for social preference testing, novel object recognition tests, hole-board tests, elevated plus maze, etc.
